How does everyone feel about GSN's new ban on smoking-advertised shows in the B&WO Lineup? Personally, I think it is a stupid move on GSN's part. GSN seems to want to protect people by not "promoting" smoking on the shows. Personally, I don't see the harm in the shows being aired. Sure, the sponsor's ads that actually PROMOTE smoking (i.e. "Such-and-such cigarette is the best tasting out there", etc.), but I don't see the harm in a Winston or Marlboro logo sitting on the set.

The way I see it, if someone saw one of these shows on the network and decided to start smoking because they saw one of these cigarette logos on screen, they deserve to die of lung cancer or some kind of smoking related illness.

What does everyone else think about the situation?
Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. "Oh my god, a camel! I love camels! Since I love camels so much, I'm gonna do whatever he does! I'm gonna start smoking!"

...like that would ever happen...people see cigarette ads all the time at stores and such. I see them all the time and I have no plans to start smoking.

Let's just hope they don't ban Match Game because people smoke on the show...
Hopefully, GSN will lift their smoking ban, but hopefully if they don't, it'll only affect shows sponsored by tobacco companies rather than banning any show with a cigarette on it.
1950s Game Shows have different products by the week.
Many of the shows were either solely sponsored by cigarette companies for at least a good stretch of shows or they had ciggy sponsors every-other episode.
Yeah. they have banned episodes of shows that were sponsored by brand names of cigarettes and tobacco products.
